Normally I would get to one or two life drawing sessions a week but in the past month or so I have been out of town three times and most of the recent sketches have been on location instead. I am getting ready to leave again for a Plein Air painting workshop in Eureka Springs but will get back to my life drawing upon returning in June.
I did get to the extended pose life session at Zarrow Center, downtown Tulsa last Saturday and was pretty happy with the drawing shown here that I completed at that time. This is another one done on Strathmore tan toned sketch paper with Derwent drawing pencils and white Conte` pencil. I really enjoy these extended pose opportunities and would love to see them available more frequently than every other month but I will take what I can get. Zarrow Center
This one was done at the Whiteside Artists group at a Tuesday session that they have weekly at Whiteside Park in Tulsa. Whiteside Portrait Artists
I was working again with Derwent drawing pencils and Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils on the Strathmore tan toned sketch paper.
I really appreciate and enjoy the many opportunities in the Tulsa area to draw and paint from a live model and plan to devote more time to this study in the future.
Most of my on location sketches are on my Sketching Around blog and include some figures this time as well.
